TEACHING PROGRAM

Teaching is one of the most exciting and easy program for a volunteer to get involved in. With this program volunteer get to interact with kids who are in grade 3, 4 and 5, who are roughly 8-12 years old. Some of the subjects that can be taught by the volunteers include, Mathematics, Science, English, Social Studies, Computer (basic computer lessons) Studies and library lessons.

We have liaised with our placements so that together with the teaching staff we can provide enough teaching materials to help our volunteers be conversant with our Kenyan syllabus. When getting to placements our volunteers will use public transport (which is cheaper) or they can use an uber or taxi which is a bit expensive. With public transport, our volunteer liaison orients our volunteers on how to get to and from placement, the names of all stops and where to alight and board matatus or PSV.

The minimum time a volunteer can undertake the teaching program is 1 week. The first 2 days will be your placement orientation. During these 2 days our volunteers will be oriented on how to get to your placement and back to you host house.

Volunteering is from Monday to Friday, weekends are days off where a volunteer can decide to take local trips with our tourism partner.
